Frequently Asked Questions
Your questions matter — here’s what you might want to know.
Yes, you may be able to claim a rebate through Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) or your Private Health Insurance, depending on your eligibility and level of cover.
Medicare CDBS: If your child is eligible for CDBS, Dental Hygiene to You can check eligibility on your behalf. There is some extra paperwork required for you to fill out as a requirement from Medicare so please let us know in advance if you will be using this as your payment method.
Private Health Insurance: An itemised account will be provided for you to submit to your health fund. Rebates vary depending on your individual policy and level of cover. Dental Hygiene to You is not responsible for the rebate outcome.
Please note: Travel fees are not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
Important: Only services provided within the Dental Hygienist’s approved scope of practice are eligible for claiming through Medicare CDBS or Private Health Insurance.
As a mobile provider, we value the time spent with you and your family. To ensure your appointment runs smoothly and to reduce unnecessary administrative tasks in your home, payment is not required on the day of service.
After your appointment, you will receive a digital itemised account, and payment is due within 7 days. Once payment is received, you will be issued a tax invoice which you can use to claim from your Private Health Fund (if applicable).
For patients eligible under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), we are able to process claims directly on your behalf, meaning no out-of-pocket payment is required for approved services.
A neuroaffirming practitioner is someone who recognizes and values the unique ways in which individuals’ brains work. Natalie has experience working with neurodiverse communities, and her personal family experience with neurodivergent diagnoses has given her a deep understanding of how the brain functions. She is dedicated to providing care that is tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for all patients. Natalie prides herself on her empathetic approach, working to make sure every patient feels heard, respected, and at ease during their treatment.
As a Dental Hygienist, Natalie’s scope of practice is focused on preventive and maintenance care. This includes services such as oral hygiene assessments, professional cleaning (removal of plaque and tartar), application of fluoride and remineralization agents, oral health education, and support for managing conditions like gum disease. She does not perform restorative treatments such as fillings, extractions, or complex diagnostics, which are the role of a dentist.
If further dental treatment is required, Natalie will provide a referral to a trusted local dentist or specialist. She works collaboratively with other dental professionals to ensure you receive the appropriate care in a timely and coordinated manner—supporting you every step of the way.
Natalie can assess and diagnose your periodontal status and provide guidance on maintaining your oral health. However, as Dental Hygiene to You is a mobile service, treatment is limited to the removal of plaque and mild tartar above the gumline.
The service is not equipped with the specialised tools required to treat subgingival calculus (tartar below the gumline) or provide comprehensive periodontal therapy.
If more advanced periodontal treatment is needed, Natalie will refer you to a trusted periodontist or dental provider who can offer the appropriate care. She will ensure your transition is smooth and your ongoing dental health remains supported.
Natalie can provide a pre-orthodontic assessment to evaluate your oral health and identify any factors that may impact orthodontic treatment, such as alignment issues or myofunctional concerns. She also offers Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy evaluations to help assess the function of the muscles involved in breathing, chewing, and swallowing.
If orthodontic treatment is needed, Natalie will refer you to a trusted orthodontist or dental provider who can offer the appropriate treatment plan tailored to your needs.
That’s wonderful to hear! It’s great that you’re already under the care of a trusted provider. Please let Natalie know on your intake forms about any practitioners you are currently seeing, including your Speech Pathologist. This will allow her to liaise directly with them regarding any Myofunctional Evaluation findings or dental results she may discover, ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive approach to your care.
